Structural Steel Inspections Services

To ensure quality control during the fabrication and erection of structural steel on construction sites, CTL utilizes experienced and certified structural steel inspectors to review project requirements and perform the required inspecions and tests per the approved project documents. These inspections may occur on-site and/or in the fabrication shop. 

CTL staff includes a select group of highly skilled inspectors with AWS (CWI) and ASNT certifications. They are responsible for visual inspection of bolts and welds and also non-destructive testing (NDT) of welds. All NDT inspectors have received special training and are certified in Ultrasonic (UT), Magnetic Particle (MT) and Dye Penetrant (PT).

New Richmond Avenue School
Atlantic City, New Jersey

CTL is currently working with Hill International and Cobra Construction on the new Richmond Avenue School, located on Ventnor Avenue in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The new 50,000 SF three (3) story structure is constructed on timber piles supporting concrete grade beams and pile caps.

The new Richmond Avenue School will consist of Pre – K through Eighth Grade classrooms, a new gymnasium, free public library, and cafeteria. 

Teachers and students who have been spending last year and this year in the former Brighton Avenue School will be moved to the new school by the 2011-2012 school year. The anticipated completion date is August of 2011.

CTL is performing ongoing inspection and testing of pile foundations, soils, concrete placement, concrete reinforcement, masonry, structural steel, spray-applied fireproofing and periodic professional engineering inspections.

This is a New Jersey DCA Special Inspector project, which requires highly qualified and licensed inspectors.

St. David the King Church -
Faith Formation Center & Great Hall
Princeton Junction, New Jersey

November 21, 2010 marked a new day in the life of the St. David Church as Bishop John M. Smith blessed and dedicated the brand new state-of-the-art 23,000 square foot Faith Formation Center and Great Hall. Like a growing number of parishes who have built similar facilities in the diocese, St. David the King created a new center that encompasses their different way of thinking about parish life.

The Faith Formation Center, attached to the Church, is considered the religious wing of the parish complex. Staff members who once shared small quarters and had little privacy for confidential meetings now have their own offices. There is also a new room for the music ministry, a spiritual reading room furnished with sofas, oversized chairs and an electric fireplace, where ministries can comfortably gather.

The Great Hall measuring at 18,000 square feet is used mostly for eight classrooms for religious education classes; however the classrooms can be dismantled opening space for parties or social gatherings. The open space can seat up to 850 people chair to chair or 350 if people are seated at round tables, with additional room for a dance floor if necessary. The Great Hall also comes equipped with a commercial kitchen making it suitable for in-house catering services, which parishioners are welcome to use for fellowship gatherings after funerals. 

CTL was responsible for testing and inspection of concrete placement, concrete reinforcing steel, structural steel, and Exterior Insulation Finishing System (E.I.F.S).

This was a New Jersey DCA Special Inspector project, which requires qualified and DCA licensed inspectors.

George Dib, Senior Project Manager

Craig Testing Laboratories, Inc. is pleased to highlight Mr. George Dib, one of our outstanding project managers. Mr. Dib has over twenty (25+) years of engineering and project management experience and currently serves as Senior Project Manager of our Construction Services Division. He has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, a Diploma in Computer Systems Technology and a Diploma in Project Management Principals I & II. 

Having been with the company since June 2010, Mr. Dib has gained specific project experience in numerous projects, such as, Bayonne Energy Center in Bayonne New Jersey, Brigantine Beach Community Center in Brigantine New Jersey, Rite Aid Corporation in Langhorne Pennsylvania and South Jersey Gas, Jackson Road to Indian Mills Road 12” Extension & Cape May Court House 16” Extension, to name a few.

We look forward to many years of service from Mr. Dib and his tremendous work ethic. Mr. Dib is one more exceptional individual serving Craig Testing Laboratories, Inc. diverse customer base.
